Kai Huckenbeck took the third position in the first round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2018, which was held in Gniezno. Before the meeting, however, not many experts put German rider as one of the candidates to step on a podium, but all he did was proving them there's a huge potential in him.

Beginning of the meeting was a mix of good and poor starts. After three series, Huckenbeck had only 4 points, but before the next starts, he made a crucial decision of changing bike. Effect? Four heats and three wins of rider from Wuppertal. In the great final, Huckenbeck was third and gathered 11 points in the overall classification of TAURON SEC 2018.

- I am really happy with the way this meeting ended for me. I totally didn't expect that. In the beginning, I had to struggle with my equipment, but in the second phase of the meeting I changed my bike and it was a great decision. I regret choosing second gate in the final heat, because I got completely lost on start. Never though, third position is a great result - Huckenbeck said.

Second round of the Euro Championship is going to be held in Güstrow, which is Huckenbeck's favourite track. German rider got there the wild card twice and each time he proved that he knows all the ins and outs about this track.

- Every meeting is different, but the track in Güstrow is my favourite one. I love racing there and I'm really glad to have another opportunity to compete at this track - Huckenbeck ended.

Second round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2018 will be held in Güstrow on July 14, 2018. Tickets are available: http://bit.ly/TAURON_SEC_GUSTROW.
