Robert Lambert was third in the Saturday's round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship, held in Daugavpils. Brit got 13 points and is currently third in the overall classification of the series.
Meeting in Latvia started for Lambert with collecting one point, but his next two starts ended with some impressive advantage over his rivals. Winner from Güstrow, for the second time in a row, got the direct promotion to the final heat. In the last heat of the day, Lambert had a tough duel with Emil Sayfutdinov, out of which, it was Russian rider taking the win.
- It was a tough meeting. Once again, I could pick a better gate before the final heat. Gate one was dominant through the whole meeting. I wanted to take gate two, but statistics showed that gate three would be a much better choice, so that's why I took it.
I was fighting really hard with Emil for second position, couldn't quite get past him, but overall I think I've done a good job moving into the last round. Hopefully we will have a good round there and keep my position in the championship - Lambert said.
Final round of the Individual Speedway European Championship 2018 will be taken at Śląski Stadium in Chorzów. Lambert has already had an opportunity to race at a one-day track during Grand Prix in Cardiff. However, Brit admits that the first battles will already be taken at the practice session, where everyone will try to adjust quickly and find the right setups.
- We're going there with an open mind. That's a one-day track, so everyone will fight with setups during the practice. Hopefully, we'll quickly find a good one - Brit added.
Most probably, during the final round of TAURON SEC, there will be around 40.000 people at the stands. Robert Lambert thinks that such a huge audience is a special motivation boost for a better racing.
- I hope it'll be good. I like when there's a big crowd at the stadium, but on a one-day track anything can happen, no one been there yet. We just have to find setup really fast - Lambert ended.
