Leon Madsen won the second round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship, which last Saturday was held in Toruń. The Dane scored 15 points and finished second in the intermediate classification of the cycle, losing to Grigorij Laguta, one point.
From the beginning of the competition, Leon Madsen presented himself perfectly. The Dane won his races with a big advantage over his rivals, but in run number 10 he fell into a rut through which he hit Anders Thomsen. As a result of the accident, the younger Danes had to withdraw from the competition.
- It was a good competition, but due to rainfall before the competition, a few ruts appeared on the corners, and when I fell into one of them I hit Anders. It was an unfortunate accident. I hope everything is fine with him. I think about him and I wish him a quick return to the track - said Leon Madsen.
After being eliminated in the third series of starts, the champion of the title did not give his opponents any more points and ended the struggle with 15 points on the account. After the victory in Torun, Madsen approached the leader of the Grigory Laguta cycle for one point in the intermediate classification.
At Motoarena, the Dane had a special support. The struggle was watched by his daughter, Marika.
- It was the first individual competition she saw in her life. I think she brought me luck. I am glad that I managed to win today - ended the Individual European Champion 2018, Leon Madsen.
