12 medals - it's the number of medals that Swedes gathered on Pair Word Cup tournaments so far. It's the result 5 medals worse than their neighbours from Scandinavia - Danes. However, "Three Crowns" team is in the very top of medal classification, taking the third position.

Swedish team have 4 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. Only Denmark and Great Britian have better result. Such fantastic result was ensured especially by two riders: Anders Michanek and Tommy Jansson, who twice in a duet were standing on a top step of a podium. It was in 1975 in Boras (Sweden) and in 1975 in Wrocław. In the meantime (1974) Michanek also triumphed in a pair with Sören Siosten in Manchester (United Kingdom).

Last succes of swedish pair was in 1993. That time in Vojens (Denmark) Tony Rickardsson was in fantastic disposition, and his partners were Per Jonsson and reserve Henrik Gustafsson. "Ricky" gathered 15 points and "Henka" and Jonsson 5 and 6 points. It was enough to overtake the United States and win a gold medal.

On 8th June on Motoarena in Toruń Eurosport Speedway Best Pairs will take place. Swedish team will be represented by duet Andreas Jonsson - Antonio Lindbaeck. - Andreas knows that Swedes have great history in Pair World Cup. AJ, just like Per Jonsson progressed fantastically as a junior. His partner in Toruń - Toninho - is one of the most talented riders of Sweden in last five years - said well-known sport journalist Tomasz Lorek.

Swedish pair will be managed by talented Bosse Wirebrand, who promises: - We'll go to Toruń with one aim - to win a title. After those declarations we are looking forward for ambitious and exciting riding of AJ and Anton. Will it be enough to win a tournament? We'll see soon.
