Bartosz Smektała took seventh place during the Saturday's round of TAURON SEC, which was held in Łódź. The Polish representative admits, he was aiming higher, but not everything went for him as planned.
Smektała began the meeting with zero in heat four, but in another races crossed the finish line once as second, and two times as first. He fought about the promotion to the 'last chance' heat in race 19, but eventually he took fourth place, which meant, it was his last start that day.
- The first corner wasn't best for me, and I'm not sure if I could do more. Of course, I could try to do more during the whole race, but it didn't work out as I wanted. I felt great and optimally prepared. I wanted to fight about higher places.
Smektała is currently on the fifth in the interim classification - the last which guarantees start in the next year's series. Sixth in the table - Piotr Pawlicki - is losing only one point.
The grand final of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2022 will be held in Pardubice on September 23rd. Tickets are available via bit.ly/Pardubice_Tickets.
