We are pleased to announce that Black Energy Drink is now an official partner of the SEC Series.
The last round will be held on Sunday 29th September at 19:00, at the stadium on 69 ulicy Hetmanskiej in Rzeszow. Black Energy Drink will be the official provider of energy drinks and refreshments for riders and mechanics. Black Energy Drink is manufactured by Polish company FoodCare and was initially produced as a limited edition Tiger drink, under the name Black Tiger Energy Drink.
Black Energy Drink is also present outside Poland, and is available in Germany, the United Kingdom, and Bulgaria. Since 2012 the former American boxer, Mike Tyson, has been the face of the beverage.
This season Speedway European Championship has been given a new lease of life through the innovative ideas of One Sport Marketing, who decided to freshen up the competition to find the best rider in Europe. The SEC series has gained prestige, and a new formula has captivated interest amongst viewers. Instead of a one-day final, the best speedway riders of the Old Continent are now fighting for the title, the medals and the prize money in a series of four finals, held in Gdansk (PL), Togliatti (RUS), Gorican (HR) and Rzeszow (PL).
Speedway European Championship organisers, One Sport, invite the best European riders each year to take part in the competition. The formula is such that inconsistencies in performance year on year are virtually eliminated, and only the best riders qualify for the final tournament. Each Final round consists of 22 heat races. After the main part of the meeting where riders battle each other over programmed races, the top two riders will progress directly to the Grand Final heat of the day.
Those riders placed third to sixth will race in a ‘Last Chance Qualifier' heat, where the top two finishers will join the Grand Final, which will then decide the winner of the meeting. The rider gathering the most points over all four rounds will be crowned Individual Speedway European Champion.
As has been the case with the entire SEC series, the final round in Rzeszow will be broadcast live to 71 countries via Eurosport. This relationship is an added advantage for the city organisers who can present the attractions of the region to the rest of the world.
“After three rounds of the Speedway European Championship we are very happy with the audiences so far. We are pleased that through our station the shale sport is moving into new territories and is being increasingly received by more audiences throughout Europe. It is worth noting that broadcasts of high profile events such as this, are an excellent promotional tool,” says Radek Jaworski, Director of Communications, Eurosport Poland.
