Another rider chose a number to compete in Speedway European Championships. 2013's bronze medalist, Russian, Grigory Laguta ultimately chose number # 111. "Grisha" reacted very positively to this possibility, noting that similar things take place in the motocross competition, Moto GP and F1.
- Didn't even think what number I'd like to have, but the first one that comes to mind is # 111 - says Laguta. - This is not some special lucky number for me, but I'm quite accustomed to it. I started with this number in motocross and would feel good if I could start again with # 111 on the race jacket.
- This is a very good idea that the organizers have introduced. Fans like innovative stuff. For example, in motocross such rules are already well established, so here it probably will be the same. For fans, something new is always attractive and causes that they are more interested in the competition itself. For the riders it's also such a novelty that in some way will mark out Championship and that's very cool. The organizers are doing their best to implement new solutions - just as it should be - ends Russian.
Laguta won a SEC bronze medal in Rzeszow, where, after a very good fight placed right behind Martin Vaculik and Nicki Pedersen.
So far numbers chosen numbers are: Emil Sayfutdinov - # 89, Tomasz Gollob - # 20, and the above described Laguta - # 111. Soon we'll reveal another numbers indicated by the participants of the next SEC edition.
