Because of the injury Grigorij Laguta lost three of four tournaments of this year’s Speedway European Championships. Russian was healthy only for the last round in Częstochowa and… he won it in a great style. If it hadn’t been because of the injury, he would definitely have fought for one of the medals of European Championship.

Grisha got his leg injured even before the season which caused that he didn’t start at the beginning of the season in Poland. Next, after a short rehabilitation the rider from Russia was on a bike again and he started racing in Polish and Russian league. As it appeared it was too early for come back and he was injured again. Consequently he wasn’t able to start in three rounds of SEC.

- I agreed with all these things – I was out of some matches and events but what can I do? I can’t turn back the time. Surely I wouldn’t made the same mistake again and I would come back on a track when a doctor would say I can come back. – said just before coming back on Grigorij Laguta.

The tournament in Częstochowa was really successful for him. In regular phase he lost only one point when he lost with European Champion, Emil Sajfutdinow. In the final he was also behind his countryman but Emil fell on the track. In the re – run Laguta had a great advantage over the rivals and he presented really impressive style of riding when he rode. Surely Grisha has the biggest chance to get wild card for next year SEC series.
