2014 season was the best in Peter Kildemand’s career. He was really successful not only in Polish league but also during international tournaments. The result of great preparation for the series was the second place and silver medal of European championship.
Dane won his fight for SEC in Debrecen where he was successful enough to be a participant of championship. Before the first tournament in Gustrow he had mentioned that he didn’t want to plan any special positions. He just wanted to be better and better and that was the way for good scores. It was really like that. The inauguration in Gustrow was really good for Kildemand. After hard attack in last chance heat, he qualified to the great final in which he lost only with Nicki Pedersen.
It wasn’t the same in Togliatti, where although he scored twelve points in regular phase he didn’t manage to qualify to the final. Another fight in the last chance heat didn’t bring any result and Kildemand left Russia not very happy.
In his homeland was totally different because “Spider” lost only with Emil Sajfutdinow. When everybody counted on Nicki Pedersen, Kildemand coped with regular phase in his style he was second in the last chance heat and the same was in the great final. Before the last round on his Polish home track in Częstochowa he had really big chance to become European Champion…
Since the very beginning he was nip and tuck with Emil Sajfutdinow. When Russian won his heat, Kildemand did the same. Finally there was this eighteenth heat when Kildemand was chasing Sajfutdinow he went really wide and fell. The referee excluded Dane and Russian could celebrate gold medal of SEC. Kildemand was really mad at himself after this action but after the tournament he was really happy when he received silver medal of European championship 2014. It is worth to emphasize that Peter Kildemand started in the last chance heat four times and three of them ended with the qualification to the great final.
