Last year they were last in Speedway Best Pairs Cup although they never were at this place in a particular round. Andrzej Lebedevs, Kjastas Puodzuks and Maksim Bogdanovs will start during the inauguration of the series in Toruń with the wild card. Successors of Wladimir and Iwan Rybnikow would like to surprise favorites. Will they manage to do that?
It is already on the 28th March at Motoarena when the inauguration of the season in international calendar takes place! At first pairs! Latvians have presented their squad as the first team – they will ride in Toruń with the wild card.
- The event is organized by the same people as SEC and everything there is on the highest level. I am very happy that I was part of these tournaments in 2014 and I will still be in 2015. – says Andrzej Lebedevs.
Kjastas Puodzuks was the best among Latvians last year in Toruń. Another starts weren’t so successful but another call to the squad for Speedway Best Pairs Cup proves that the manager trusts him very much.
Andrzej Lebedevs is a talented 20 – year old rider. He has already had some important successes – also in pairs! He is among others double medalist of Individual Latvian Championship U21: gold (2011) and silver (2010). He is also bronze medalist of European Club Cup, double finalist of European Pair Championship (Piła 2011 – 4th place, Równe 2012 – silver medal).
- We are riding in the first round in Poland and if we present ourselves well there, I guess, we will also ride in Esbjerg. In Germany we won’t ride because of marketing reasons – hosts will be racing there. – added Andrzej Lebedevs.
The third rider in Latvian team will be Maksim Bogdanovs who presented really well in last year Speedway European Championships series. He replaced injured riders and was very close to the medal of European Championship!
This season Speedway Best Pairs Cup series consists of three rounds again. Apart from the rivalry in Toruń the riders will race on the 11th April in German Gustrow and on the 9th May in Esbjerg in Denmark.
