Two rounds – two victories, that was Nicki Pedersen’s result. He was aiming to a victory in Speedway European Championships series. The third round took place on his home track so experts agreeably claimed – “Power” has to ensure the title in Holsted…

Fans gathered at Moldow Arena in Holsted were counting on the fact that Nicki Pedersen even before the last round in Częstochowa would ensure such advantage which made it possible to be happy with the gold medal of European Championships. Unfortunately the weather, which totally changed the surface, thwarted it.

Just before the meeting there was heavy rain and at one moment everybody afraid if the event could be held at the planned date. Fortunately the organizers did their best and after several minutes the track was safe and it was possible to fight on it. Nicki Pedersen, the main candidate to a victory, did very bad since the very beginning which surprised local fans. “Power” after the three rounds had only one point and it was almost sure that Dane wouldn’t qualify even to the last chance heat.

Emil Sajfutdinow, who qualified to the final after the race – off, took advantage of worse day of the rival. In the final he didn’t give any chance Peter Kildemand and Martin Vaculik and he stood at the first step of the podium for the first time in the season. What is more he had bigger advantage in the general classification over Nicki Pedersen and Dane was also passed by his countryman, Peter Kildemand.

- I was very disappointed after the start in Holsted last year. I really wanted to have a great start in front of my audience but everything went wrong. I can blame only myself for such state of things – said Nicki Pedersen.

Emil Sajfutdinow knew that it was his time and a great chance to win this which he hadn’t been able to win a year before, the gold medal of European Championships. What is more important, Sajfutdinow was better and better match after match and in the league was close to a maximum very often. However the riders fighting for European Champion title had just one meeting ahead – the great final in Częstochowa.
