Representatives from seven countries will take part in this year's Speedway European Championships series. Poles will be the largest group - they have five representatives. In addition, local rider U21, Paweł Przedpełski will start with the wild card in Toruń.
Poles have among them some very experienced riders. We are talking primarily about the living legend of Polish speedway, Tomasz Gollob, for which this is the third fight for a medal in Europe. Slightly younger, Piotr Protasiewicz id just experiencing the second youth and is considered to be one of the favorites of this year's struggle. In addition to those two, under the Polish flag will start: Janusz Kolodziej, Tomasz Jędrzejak and Przemysław Pawlicki.
Danes with three-time world champion, Nicki Pedersen will be second largest nation in European Championships. Apart from "Power", Peter Kildemand, who is in a great shape and Hans Andersen, who is coming back after worse season, will start in the final tournament.
Russians will also have three representatives in SEC. Among them is, the champion of Europe, Emil Sayfutdinov and extremely dangerous on every track brothers Artem and Grigory Laguta. Slovakia will be represented by European Champion 2013, Martin Vaculik, who won most of his heats this season.
Rookies in the series are - Swede Antonio Lindbaeck and Czech Vaclav Milik, whose progress in recent months has made it possible to look at the development of Czech speedway with hope. The line - up is filled by German Martin Smolinski, the only rider who has successfully joined the fight for the World Championship both classic as well as in long track events.
SEC starting list is a veritable mix of youth with routine, which makes that on Saturday 20.06 at 6:30 p. m. in Torun, we will be witnesses of an incredible show that every fan of speedway should see with one’s own eyes!
