Martin, the beginning of Speedway European Championships series wasn’t very successful for you this year because in Torun you scored only five points. Why did it happen?
- I wasn’t fast enough on this track. I didn’t find the right setups, it was really tough and that’s why it happened what happened and the result was as it was…

However in Landshut was much better and I think that you can be satisfied with your result, right?
- Yes, of course. It was good event for me and I really was close to qualify to the final. I also scored many points and because of that I’m happy most. I hope that it will be the same as it was in Germany in other tournaments.

So far you are fifth in the general classification. Is it satisfying result for you?
- No, no. I just want to ride as good as possible. The top three is still my goal and I want to be there.

Do you think that you can undo your loss even to Emil who is the leader?
-
I think that there is always the chance. I just have to fight and after the four rounds we’ll see what will be the situation in the general classification.

It is said that this season the level of SEC is probably the highest although there is only one Grand Prix rider in the line - up. Do you agree with such opinions?
- Yes, I also think so. The line – up of SEC is really strong this year and the level is the highest since the beginning of its existence.

Has this year’s series surprised you in some way?
- No, no. It is still great event and I really like starting in SEC. This is great promotion of speedway and I’m happy that I can be part of it. I hope that I could start in this series every year.

The tournaments in Kumla and Ostrow are ahead of us. How do you feel on this tracks?
- I feel well on both these tracks. Generally I think that the choice of the track this year is really good because it seems that that these will be great events.

If we look at your results in the previous years, then the first tournament is usually worse for you and then is better and better…
-
(Laugh) Indeed, I’ve also noticed that. I hope that this time will be the same and at the end I could be satisfied with my result.

Thanks very much for the interview.
- Thank you, see you in Kumla.
