Janusz Kołodziej was the best Pole in last year Speedway European Championships series. He began this year’s struggle with not so successful start at MotoArena in Torun, but he clearly improved in Landshut. Will Koldi have enough time to stay in SEC?
The inaugural heat in Torun was very good for the rider from Tarnow. Sure victory could cause that he lost his vigilance which resulted in later scores. Only one point in another four starts caused that Kołodziej put himself in very difficult situation just at the beginning.
The event in Landshut was clearly better for Pole. Before the last round of heats he had 9 points on his account and victory in the last twentieth heat gave him a chance for the final. Of course in that particular moment, the situation was that a referee would have to go to paddock to do a draw.
Unfortunately, Kołodziej reached the finish line at the third place. Next in the race – off he didn’t manage to fight and finally he finished the event at the sixth place. After the two rounds Pole is eighth in the general classification of the series with fourteen points. Crush in the table causes that still everything is possible. The first step to a qualification should be made already in Kumla, on August 15th at ICA Maxi Arena.
