On Friday, city of Ostrów Wielkopolski was the host of press conference with guest appearances from 2 riders, who will present In front of the local crowd at the Municipal Stadium, on September 19.
When we decided to host SEC, we were mosty thinking about both promoting the city itself and local speedway. No need to add that speedway in Ostrów is loved a lot, so this event is at the top of citizens’ dreams – said Beata Klimek, President of Ostrow Wielkopolski
Next, Russian Emil Sayfutdinov – leader of SEC series took over the microphone. Exactly one year after being crowned as a king of Europe in Czestochowa, Emil will have a great chance to repeat that achievement in Ostrow.
- I don’t feel like being close to the gold. 9 points is not that much. I want to gather points and we’ll see how will it go. Exactly one year ago I was struggling for the gold, so hopefully it’s gonna be a good sign and on 19th of September I’m going to be at the top of the podium.
Next, organizers of the series informed about the Wild Card for this event, given to the local Rider – Mateusz Szczepaniak. “Szczepan” has got an impressive heat average at the Ostrow’s track in Nice PLZ (2,214 pt/heat). Piotr Pawlicki and Norbert Krakowiak will ride as reserves.
I want to prepare for this meeting in the best possible way, present myself from the very best side of me. It’s a big honour for me to have a chance to race with the best European riders. – said Mateusz Szczepaniak.
At the end, organizers informed about all the attractions for the fans.
