You decided to stay in Unia Tarnów, but surely you had offers from the other clubs?
- I don't go that way, like many riders, who gather offers and choose the best ones. I wanted to stay in Tarnów. Surely, there was a strong interest from the other clubs, but further talks were determined by things happening in Tarnów. I decided to stay and deal with Unia. From my point of view, it all looks fine and I just hope that our roster will be strong enough to fight for the 2016 play-off round.
- It's getting harder with every year, like in this one, when we had slightly weaker squad. As it turned out, though, it didn't look worse than before. I hope that some serious rider, who can help this team, will replace Martin Vaculik. I'm planning to still sail this ship as a captain and fight for the medals. Last four years brought us medals, so I would like to continue this path, but probably it will be a bit harder. There were some 'for' and 'against', but I've decided to choose that option. Leaving Tarnów would probably get me to the team aiming the league's top and that could give me a medal. The option I've chosen makes my challenge harder, however gives me more area to show off and puts a bigger responsibility on my shoulders.
And what's the situation with Swedish league. This year, you didn't race at the Elitserien tracks. Will you skip it in the upcoming year as well?
- Despite the Swedish side's offer, I'm not considering that option at the moment. Concentration on the most important - my club in Poland, especially in these rough times for Unia, has to be even bigger and everything has to be well prepared. I have to be present at the training sessions if I want to race well and give more to the team. It has to be a maximal sacrifice for the team. I also run my speedway school, which so far has 12 youngsters and many others are willing to participate in this project. It also takes a lot of time and I really care about it. Besides, there are individual starts, Polish championship's qualifications and many other performances related with my team. Of course, what's most important when it comes to individual racing - SEC. It's totally enough.
After all, there are really a lot of these starts - league, qualis, SEC. You think it's enough?
- Yeah, it is. I prefer to put more of my time to trainings, tests and a better preparation for the meetings than going to Sweden, which was really burdensome for my whole team. Surely, organizing second crew in Sweden is possible, but it brings an additional costs and racing from Tarnów to Sweden is over a thousand kilometers and three days taken out of the week. We're often having a laugh that when Bartek Zmarzlik is having his bikes cleaned at his house in Gorzów after match in Sweden, I'm still on the road to Tarnów. Unfortunately, it just looks like that and I can't let it happen to have these three days out. Like I said - school, taking care of my youngsters is extremely important for me and with this set, everything works properly.
Thank you for the interview and your time.
- Thanks and best regards.
