Rybnicki Klub Motorowy (Motorcycle Club of Rybnik) was founded in 1932. In 2016, after 10 year break, club is back in the highest league class in Poland and what's more, it will be the organizer of the Great Final of Speedway Euro Championship (September 17, Municipal Stadium).
- When we visited Rybnik as guests during the GP Challenge last year, we were 100% sure to make our event right here. Talks were quick and concrete. Every single person engaged in that matter showed a full professionalism. We didn't waste time and started talking about the core things. We're very glad to announce that it'll be on September 17, 2016 in Rybnik, where the Euro Championship's medals will be given - said Jan Konikiewicz.
Local club is a 12-time Polish Team Champion. Their last title was reached in 1972.
- We have a big ambition to host big speedway meetings at our stadium. I think it's worth it, because of its quality and presence at the Eurosport antenna - said Piotr Kuczera - Rybnik's president.
Last season, team from Rybnik ended third in Nice PLŻ. They filled all the requirements though and ultimately will run for the Polish Team Championship race. One of the requirements was stadium's renewal.
- Rebuilding starts on January 21. We're ready and simply waiting for this decision's validation. It'll include changing the corners' geometry. Additionally, social and sanitary base will be improved. We're also thinking about some graffiti that could appear at the wall from Gliwicka street - ended president, Piotr Kuczera.
