It is said that, it's good to start your battle well in the series, to gain an advantage and show the rivals good form. When it comes to Speedway Euro Championship though, winning the first round wouldn't give the ultimate triumph...
In 2013, during the inaugural round in Gdańsk, Emil Sayfutdinov had grabbed the win and repeated that in Russian Togliatti. After all, though, Russian didn't reach the Euro Champ's crown because of his injury, even though he had a significant advantage over his rivals and was a sure shot when it comes to winning whole SEC series.
Similiar thing happened in 2014, when Nicki Pedersen started his road from winning the first round in Guestrow and then Togliatti. Unfortunately, in front of his home crowd in Holsted, he didn't handle the pressure and got himself away from gold.
On June 20 in Toruń, Pedersen won again, however, as we it's well known, ultimately it was Emil Sayfutdinov who wore the golden medal. Until now, the winner was the one who presented a steady form and these wins in the first, or even first and second round haven't given the dreamed triumph. One mistake can let down the whole struggle directed in three rounds. That's why, you got to stay focused throughout the whole SEC series. From first till the last heat of the Great Final, which in 2016, will take place in Rybnik.
