Inaugural round of Speedway Euro Championship starts in less than a month. It's on July 16 in German Güstrow, when the best European riders will fight for the first points, which will get them closer to the wanted title. Meanwhile, SEC organizers has given the wild card for the first round. It was received by Kai Huckenbeck.
23-year-old rider has been noting a progress with every next year. Despite his young age, Huckenbeck has already had two golden medals of the individual championship of Germany. First one was reached in 2013. Back then, noone made bets on him, especially not as the favourite for taking the title. Kai Huckenbeck had already a chance to start in this year's Speedway Best Pairs, where he was representing the City Team. It will be his debut in European Championship, though. As he admits, he wants to perform his best in front of his home crowd.
Except the wild card, organizers also announced the reserves. First one will be Kevin Woelbert, double Individual German Champion, second one - Erik Riss, who's started this season in a great style by taking the 4th place in the first round of FIM Speedway U21 World Championship in King’s Lynn.
