Popular Polish rapper and music producer coming from Rybnik - Tomasz Iwanca, better known as Grubson, keeps his fingers crossed for a good performance of Kacper Woryna, rider of the local club... who played in one of his music videos.
- History of ours is interesting. I met Kacper while playing basketball. Couple years back, we met few times at the court in the park - says Grubson. - We started talking about what we are doing and being interested in and then the idea of a videoclip appeared. It was important for me to shoot it in Rybnik.
I wanted to show my friends and people coming from this town. Inviting Kacper to the clip was my friend's idea. He said: 'Take him, he's a badass', so we got in touch with him and we made the video.
Kacper Woryna is Antoni Woryna's grandson - the first Pole who reached a medal in the Individual Speedway World Championship. Rybnik's native got the wild card from organizers of the Speedway Euro Championship for the final round, coming this Saturday at 7 PM.
- Kacper is a good kid. Very talented - adds Grubson. - I really support hin. He's a young, fresh blood. He is stubborn and race like a thunder. I think he is going to be fabolous during the SEC in Rybnik.
We asked this 30 y.o. musician has it ever crossed his mind - to try his chance in motorsports?
- I have never done it, however I got on the motorbike once, with my friend. We were riding for a while, but in ended with a fall of ours. Nothing big happened except for bruised knees, but the memory of it is still in my head.
Rapper's hobby is basketball, however I am interested in speedway too.
- To be honest, I have been at speedway few times. I would love to be more often, but usually I'm out of my town, touring, playing gigs, while guys are fighting for the league points. Of course, when there is a chance of doing so, I go to the matches. I remember the times, when the team from Rybnik was very strong and this has been coming back slowly. It is a reason to be proud - says Tomasz Iwanca.
- For me, speedway is an extreme sport. The fact they don't have brakes says it all. To be a speedway rider, you need to have courage. There is no space for even a second of hesitation. Mentality and skills are the most important matters. I am sure that the final of Speedway Euro Championship is going to be a great show - ends rapper from Rybnik.
