Przemysław Pawlicki started in the Speedway Euro Championship for the second consecutive season. In 2015, he got 28 points that gave him 8th position. In the previous one, he got 5 more, however did not improve his position in the overall classification.
After two first heats in Güstrow, it seemed like it could be Przemek's night. Two threes reached, defeating Martin Vaculik, Emil Sayfutdinov or Janusz Kołodziej brought some optimism before further heats.
Unfortunately, in the next three heats, he only managed to reach three points. That let him promote to the race-off heat. There, Pawlicki reminded how to race like in the beginning and after all, he got through to the big final. Unfortunately, bad weather caused that he and other three riders weren't able to solve the order at the track. Nine points, however, were a good starting position before the next round in Daugavpils.
In Latvia, "Przemo" was doing well again, but in the last heat of the main series, a "zero" came and got him out of the direct promotion to the final. Once again, Pole had to go through the race-off heat. This time, though, he did not manage to end it at first or second position. Second round in a row was done with 9 points and at the half of the series, he was sharing the top position with double European Champion, Emil Sayfutdinov.
In this year's series, Pawlicki presented some steady racing, but each time, that final touch was missing to fight for something more. It was similar in Togliatti, where 8 points did not let him place in the TOP 6 after the main series. After this round, "Przemo" was mad at himself, but on the other hand, he knew that before the great final in Rybnik, chances for medal are still big.
Unfortunately, few days before the most important meeting of the season, Pawlicki got a serious crash in Denmark, which brought a huge pain to rider from Leszno. For the whole meeting, there was this painful scowl on his face and racing under such circumstances wasn't a pleasure one for sure. Seven points in Rybnik and 33 in total gave Pawlicki 8th position overall. Pawlicki did not advance to SEC 2016, but surely in the next season, he will want to get the most of the "third time lucky" rule.
