Kacper Gomólski is one of 5 Poles in SEC 2017. “Ginger” is one and only debutant in European Championships.
Gomólski got his speedway license in 2008. Since that moment, for three years, he defended Start Gniezno colors. His good results have been noticed by Unia Tarnów managers, so in 2012 he changed the team and the league. During following seasons, he was the best U-21 rider in his team and one of the best in Polish Ekstraliga. When Kacper turned 22, he signed a contract with KS Toruń, when he spent next two suboptimal seasons, but a lot of experience which could help him in SEC 2017, especially on Motoarena.
- I think I haven’t any advantage. They are very experienced and Motoarena was modernized last winter. Practicing before the competiton would be most important to find optimal setups – said Gomólski.
Gomólski’s way to the SEC hadn’t been so easy. He started fight in Mureck, where he has a lot of problems with the rivals. Finally he won promotion to SEC Challenge in race-off. In Gorican situation wasn’t similar. Gomólski had shown equal form from the beginning to the end, what was enough to finish the competition on good place with promotion to SEC.
- Both of the eliminations were very difficult for me. In Gorican I felt better, because I can ride on the outside. In Mureck you had to start well and defend first position – added “Ginger”.
This season, Gomólski is riding for Zdunek Wybrzeże Gdańsk and Dackarna Malilla. In Nice PLŻ “Ginger” has 2,00 average and in Elitserien he’s making average 1,47 point per heat. Could his good form in the league have an effect on his SEC performance?
- It’ll be great if I’ll finish cycle in top 5, but it would be very difficult. My task is to win as much races as it will be possible and to show my best skills in heats against best riders in Europe – continued Gomólski.
Riders, who’ll start in SEC, could chose their numbers. “Ginger” decided, that he’ll start with #44 on his back. Why?
- It’s a difficult question. Number 4 is an unhappy one in sport, because sportsman hate the fourth place. I remember, that I took my first medal with 4 on my back, so I decided to add another 4 and this is how I made it – finished “Ginger”.
First SEC round would take place at June 30th in Toruń. First race will start at 19:00. Tickets are on sale in Empik, Media Markt, Saturn and on stated website.
