According to the Individual World Champion 1993, Sam Ermolenko, second round of SEC 2017 can be crucial for the ultimate solutions in the rivalry for European Champion title. Short, technical track in Güstrow makes the Saturday's round unpredictable.
First round of Speedway Euro Championship 2017 took place in Toruń. It was won by Jarosław Hampel, who appeared at the track with the wild card. Even though it was an one-round chance, Sam Ermolenko put Hampel as the main candidate to win that round. Krótki,
- I think that rain made the track a little slick compared to a normal Torun track surface but at least we had racing. At the end, it was Jaroslaw Hampel as a wildcard that must of been the favorite for most as for me … I was looking for Kasprzak to come good at the end especially after taking 3 points in his first race - Ermolenko said.
In Toruń, there were also Vaclav Milik and Andzejs Lebedevs taking the rostrum in Toruń. Racing by Czech and Latvian rider made Ermolenko impressed a lot.
- I was equally impressed Vaclav Milik and Andzejs Lebedevs both very strong and to both make the final they must feel good with their first round! Grigorij Laguta’s tape exclusion in heat one cost him his chance … a-long with his brother Artem exclusions but that racing! I thought with the slick conditions both Mikkel Bech and fellow Dane Leon Madsen would been scoring more points, so I would put them as following below their best but my high light of under achieving has to go to Kenneth Bjerre.
Second round of SEC 2017 takes place in Güstrow. Thanks to a specific geometry of this track, fans should witness a whole range of emotions.
- Because Gustrow is a track that even the most informed rider could face big challenges on this German track … I find it a hard pick to be honest! - world champion from Pocking added.
According to Sam Ermolenko, round in Güstrow can be crucial when it comes to overall classification of the series. Saturday's meeting should give us a list of names, who will fight for the title.
- Some of the favorites to win the overall SEC trophy will be thinking they cannot afford a bad second round … so yes I think the German track is crucial, let’s hope the big names that missed round one in Torun can get to grips with the trick track of Gustrow fairly quick! - Ermolenko eded.
