We're only few hours away from beginning the second round of Speedway Euro Chamionship, which will visit the venue at Plauer Chaussee 4 in Güstrow for the third time. It's at this technical, German track, best European riders will fight for another points to the general classification of the series.
Nicki Pedersen and Martin Vaculik got the wins in previous SEC rounds, which took place here in 2014 and 2016. Rivalry of the Europe's top has always attracted big crowd in Germany. Stands of the local stadium are always filled and fans gather around the venue few hours before the first heat. It's a great promotion of speedway in this country.
Vaclav Milik is seen as the main favourite of this round. Czech had a great performance in Toruń, where he ended at the 2nd position, losing only with the Wild Card - Jarosław Hampel. Not only the European, but the world's top has been underlining Milik as one of the main favourites to reach for the European title. Behind Czech rider, there is a whole bunch of riders, who are only waiting for even a small mistake. This list includes Krzysztof Kasprzak, who one year back, lost only to Martin Vaculik. Therefore, Pole has a right to believe to mess at this 298-meters long track in Güstrow.
List of the favourites also include Latvian rider - Andzejs Lebedevs. who grabbed the lowest step of the rostrum. Przemysław Pawlicki and Artem Laguta are also in touch with the general classification's top. On the other hand, there's Leon Madsen, who should be worried after his first poor performance in Toruń - 5 points at Motoarena caused that Dane cannot let himself do another mistake. He definitely needs a better round than in the last year, when he gathered 7 points. German fans will be observing the wild card - Kai Huckenbeck, who grabbed the 3rd position last year. Another German rider, Martin Smolinski who had a really bad first round, will also be carefelly observed. One thing is sure - German rider, just like all the others can make the history, because previous winners from Güstrow will not appear. Who will join Pedersen and Vaculik? Güstrow invites and assures - Speedway Euro Championship will be fiull of emotions.
Second round of Speedway Euro Championship 2017 comes on July 15 at 5:30 PM CET in Güstrow. Live broadcast on Eurosport 1 at 6 PM CET.
