After two rounds of this year's Speedway Euro Championship, Andzejs Lebedevs is leading the general classification. Latvian has been presenting high disposition, which makes him stand among the favourites to get the gold in European Championship.
In Güstrow, Lebedevs had a really good performance. Thanks to his solid racing, Latvian went straight to the final, in which he ended as 2nd.
- We had many interesting heats in Güstrow. I'm really glad of advancing to the final and the fact that I was able to stand on the podium - Lebedevs said.
Latvian's phenomenal form is in his opinion not only a matter of perfectly prepared engines, but also joy he's taking of racing.
- It's a great time for me. Recent results makes me really happy. I have great bikes and there's nothing more left than race and win. I'm happy that I actually can ride speedway. I love racing and it brings me a huge joy. I always have the same goal, anytime I'm standing under the tape. I notice that when points come, the ultimate result come as well, without pressure. I want to keep on enjoying racing and taste speedway - Latvian rider added.
Third round of SEC 2017 will take place in Hallstavik. Andzejs Lebedevs was representing local team - Rospiggarna for two years. Even though, "Pajaja" was there for 2 season, he's far from taking it as an advantage.
- Track in Hallstavik is really specific. I think that it's even harder than the one in Güstrow. I was racing in Rospiggarna for two seasons and I can't tell I actually know this track. Surface is really tough and demanding. Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to it. In Toruń, I had few poor heats, however I managed to stand on the podium. I hope that in Hallstavik, it'll be similar - Lebedevs said.
At the half of this rivalry, Lebedevs is leading the stake, having a 2-point advantage over Artem Laguta.
- There are still 2 rounds to go. Right now, I'm at the top, but it can change quickly. I'm happy of what it is right now - SEC 2017 general classification's leader ended.
