Final Speedway Euro Championship round is ahead of us. On October 14th in Lublin we’ll met new European champion. This is how last SEC round changed GC in previous years.
2013
Last competition was Martin Vaculik’s show. Before final round Slovak had 5 points missing to reach leader Nicki Pedersen. Finally, „Vacul” took the gold with 47 points. Nicki finished second with only 3 points less. Unfortunately, Tai Woffinden and Tomasz Gollob, occupying 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, lost their chances to win a medal in… Stockholm. During SGP they both fell and sustained injuries.
2014
2014 Grand Final was Emil Sayfutdinov's show. Russian, who had huge advantage before last SEC round, only increased the gap and won the championship. More interesting was fight for bronze. Before competition in Częstochowa, Nicki Pedersen and Martin Vaculik had 33 points. In grand final Pedersen was better and scored 11 points.
2015
Before grand final, a lot of people thought that Emil Sayfutdinov had enough advantage over Nicki Pedersen to save second championship, but last SEC round wasn’t good for Russian. Finally, he won the title with only 3 points more than Dane. The biggest unlucky fellow was Grigorij Laguta. Second Russian was in top 5 before competition in Ostrów Wielkopolski, but there he scored only 6 points. Thanks to that, Martin Vaculik and Janusz Kołodziej overtook and removed him from SEC.
2016
It was the most unpredictable Speedway Euro Championship season in history. Before last round, Antonio Lindbaeck was on the top of GC. He had 29 points on his account. Finally Swede didn’t hold the lead and… had to fight in extra race to stay in the cycle. Unfortunately for him, he lost it. Gold came to Pedersen, who was far away in the GC before meeting in Rybnik. „Power” had 6 points less than leader, but in grand final he scored 17 points and that gave him championship in the last race of the night. Also Krzysztof Kasprzak made a huge comeback. In Rybnik he finished second. In the GC he came to 2nd position with as many points as Vaclav Milik. In extra race Czech was better.
2017
Before final in Lublin, Andrzejs Lebedevs is leading the GC with 38 points. Latvian has 4 points advantage over Vaclav Milik. Andreas Jonsson and Artiom Laguta are on 3rd and 4th position, respectively, with 32 points each. Fans will see a serious fight for 5th place, wherein Krzysztof Kasprzak, Mateusz Szczepaniak and Przemysław Pawlicki will participate.
