After 15-years-long break, speedway on the highest level is coming back to Chorzów. On rebuilded Śląski Stadium, we’ll see the best riders in the world again. Everything will take place in September 2018, when SEC cycle visits that legendary place.

Though it seems impossible, Motoarena or Alfred Smoczyk Stadium aren't true homes of Polish speedway. Furthermore, the „ideal” stadium in Toruń is not the biggest owner of natural track in Polish history. After years of modernizations, it sounds unbelievable.

For sure, older fans, who watched a lot of speedway competitions on Śląski Stadium do remember a lot. Furthermore, supporters born in 1960’s saw the most important tournaments there. Everytime you asked them about that, they would talk about epic atmosphere.

The history of Witches' Cauldron started in 1956, but speedway came there 16 years later. On June 8th 1972, stadium owners ended creating natural speedway track surrounding a football pitch. In that way, Witches' Cauldron became the biggest speedway stadium in the world, because every competition could have been watched by 47 000 people.

Of course, the most important people in FIM paid attention to changes on Sląski stadium. Possibility of organizing championships with as huge crowd as in Chorzów was one of the best things which could happen to speedway world. It’s not a surprise that FIM decided to came to Chorzów 9 times for four individual WCH, two pairs WCH, one team WCH and two Speedway Grand Prix rounds.

For Polish supporters, the most important was tournament played on September 2nd 1973, when Jerzy Szczakiel took the individual gold - that was a huge surprise. Kolejarz Opole's pupil was the only Polish world champion for many years. It was only in 2010 when Tomasz Gollob was able to repeat his achievment.

After 15-years-long break, grand speedway is coming back to Witches' Cauldron. One Sport organisation did everything they could to bring SEC 2018 grand final there. Of course, now tournament will take place on temporary track and without legendary tower near the start line. Despite this, the atmosphere will be excellent. Who knows, maybe Polish riders will use that to score a lot of points?

The organisators prepared a nice deal for all the speedway fans who want to take part in the event coming back after 15 years. Being able to watch the best European riders on legendary Śląski Stadium for just 19 PLN is the best deal for everyone in 2018. Tickets for a speedway event have never been so cheap.

Categories and prices of tickets:
Category I – from 19 PLN
Category II – from 39 PLN
Category III – from 59 PLN
Category IV – from 79 PLN
Category V – from 99 PLN
Category VIP – 599 PLN
