One of the riders, who have assured start in Speedway Euro Championship 2018 is Andreas Jonsson. This year, the Swede will have a chance to come back to his young years, when he started rivalisation in Grand Prix cycle.
Upcoming season could be much better for Andreas Jonsson. Experienced Swede still has a lot of motivation, which could provide him another success, although a lot of people think that he is a rider who left his best times behind. - One of my main goals for 2018 season will be improving results in Speedway Euro Championship and attack on podium – said 5th rider of SEC 2017.
For sure, doing that won’t be easy for Jonsson; it showed in the last year's cycle, wherein AJ made the most points on his hometrack in Hallstavik. This time, Swede won’t use his knowledge about his track, because it isn’t present in SEC calendar.
Ex-World Championship medalist can remember – as one of only several riders, who are still racing – last international speedway competition on Śląski Stadium in Chorzów. His comeback to „witches' cauldron” will be a sentimental trip to times, when he started a rivalisation on international level.
To be honest, I didn’t remember European GP in 2002 and 2003, because it was at the beginning of my career. Also, Śląski has not the same track as back then, and it makes a diferrence – said Speedway Grand Prix 2011 runner-up.
Another thing that may help Jonsson is him being skilled in riding on temporary tracks. On 18 podium places in Speedway Grand Prix, 6 of them were accomplished on that kind of speedway circles. Also Jonsson was the best there two times. For him it’s a good omen before SEC 2018 Grand Final in Chorzów.
