In September 2018, after 15-years-long break, speedway will come back on Śląski Stadium in Chorzów. Very happy with that is Per Jonsson – Individual World Champion 1990.
Apator Toruń and world speedway legend, Per Jonsson, has a huge experience with building temporary tracks. He was
one of the designers of epic track and stadium od Motoarena.
- Building track on Śląski Stadium is a huge project, but that risk will pay of, for sure. Itts important for world speedway to do a lot of big tournaments on large stadiums like Śląski and also in big cites – said Per Jonsson.
On September 15th, by Speedway Euro Championship fnal and on September 29th by Polish national team meeting, speedway will come back on Śląski Stadium in Chorzów. Śląski is one of the most important place for Polish sport, not only for speedway. In 1973 Jerzy Szczakiel won frst individual world championship for Poland there.
- Śląski was an place with epic atmosphere. Magic was really there. Itm sure that coming back there is a good idea. If we want to develop, we have to do so – added 1990 world champion.
