It wasn’t definitely easy year for Tomasz Gollob, the best Polish speedway rider in history. “Skinny” had problems in Polish league where he couldn’t find the right setups for a long time but surprisingly he began Speedway European Championships pretty good, he was in the final in Gustrow.
After the training Pole found the right setups and he was really fast from the very beginning of the tournament. Finally, thanks to win in his last heat and crash of Adrian Miedziński, Gollob qualified to the last chance heat and then used fight between Peter Kildemand and Emil Sajfutdinow and on the inside he moved to the lead. In the final he was third for three laps but at the end he was fourth.
Another two rounds weren’t so successful for Tomasz Gollob. In Togliatti he scored only four points, he was last in his first three heats… In Holsted it was a little bit better but he finished the tournament too early because of dangerous crash.
The last round of SEC in Częstochowa was definitely better than journeys to Russia and Denmark. From the very beginning Gollob raced pretty good and he qualified to the last chance heat with no problems. However then he made a mistake and he didn’t manage to overtake any rival . His final score is 27 points and ninth place in general classification of the series. Are we going to see Gollob in SEC next year? We’ll know the answer for this question soon.
