Landshut town and the Trausnitz castle was founded by Bavarian prince Louis I. From 1231 it was a home of Wittelsbach family and from 1255 also Bavarian princes. In 2004 there was 800th anniversary of setting the town. In Landshut there is the highest tower which is made from bricks (130,6 m). It is the tower of basilica of St. Martin and Kastulus.
