For David Bellego the competition in Rybnik was the first in this year's cycle of Speedway Euro Championship. Due to an injury, the Frenchman couldn’t take part in previous rounds, but during Saturday's competition he presented himself from a very good side.
Last year's SEC winner Robert Lambert finished seventh in the general classification of this year's competition and that means did not secure his spot for the next year’s series. The Briton stresses that he has struggled since the beginning of the cycle.
We were expecting great emotions during the final round of the SEC in Rybnik and certainly we were not disappointed. Leon Madsen and Mikkel Michelsen fought for gold. The best turned out to be the first of them, but the latter defended the advantage in the general classification, which allowed him to stand on the top step of the podium and enter next year's edition of the Grand Prix series. Madsen eventually had to settle for silver and the additional heat for bronze was fought by Patryk Dudek and Piotr Pawlicki. In the end, the first of the Poles turned out to be better. Another additional run, settled the fact that in the European championship for next season will be Daniel Bewley and not Bartosz Smektała.
On Saturday at the Municipal Stadium in Rybnik we will get to know the final decisions in this year's Individual European Speedway Championship. The winner and further medalists finally will be determined and we will also find out who will stay in the Speedway Euro Championship cycle for the next year.
Rune Holta received a wild card for the final round of the Speedway Euro Championship 2021, which will take place on July 10 in Rybnik. The reserves will be Jakub Miśkowiak and Wiktor Trofimov. The full starting line-up for the upcoming event is revealed.
Mikkel Michelsen stood on the highest step of the podium during the third round of Speedway Euro Championship 2021. Thanks to his high score the Dane equaled with Piotr Pawlicki in the interim classification of the series. Both riders have 39 points each.

27-year-old Swede, Jacob Thorssell is first reserve for the SEC 2021. However, Frenchman David Bellego broke his collarbone just before the first Round in Bydgoszcz meaning that the Swede has now taken part in the first three Rounds of the competition.
Mikkel Michelsen's victory ended the third round of the SEC series, which took place in Gdańsk. The Dane reached the finish line in the grand final ahead of his compatriot Leon Madsen, while Daniel Bewley finished third. Robert Lambert seemed the favorite to win for a long time, but the Briton weakened at the end of the competition and ultimately didn’t even got a spot on the podium.
We have already two finals of this year's Individual European Speedway Championship behind us, so we are at the halfway point of the competition. The third round of the SEC series was planned this time in Gdańsk, at the stadium of the local speedway club Wybrzeże. This is, where the first tournament in the history of the series took place in its current form. The competition on Saturday will be back after almost eight years where it all started.
Bartosz Smektała had another successful race day in Güstrow. This time, the Pole finished fourth during the 2nd final of the Speedway Euro Championship 2021. Thanks to his high score, the Polish representative still has a real chance of staying in the series.
