It’s already tomorrow when there is the inauguration of Speedway European Championships. On Saturday the official training before the Sunday tournament took place in Gustrow. The riders praised the preparation of the track and the interest of fans. The only thing on which they could complain was the heat which was present in Gustrow for a few last days.

Martin Vaculik is defending the title of European Champion this season. According to many experts he has a great chance to triumph again because he has really fast bikes. The rider himself is very calm about SEC and doesn’t put any additional pressure on himself.
It’s not a good season for Grigorij Laguta. Firstly, the injury before the season, then problems with starts in Polish club and lately, when it seemed that everything started to go well for Russian, his leg is injured again. As he says, he came back too quickly on a track but he won’t make the same mistake again. On the 6th of July he will be replaced by Maksim Bogdanovs.

Tuesday evening was devoted to Swedish Elitserien. This time only one match couldn’t be done. The meeting between Piraterna Motala and Vastrvik was stopped after three heats. Hallstavik won again, this time with Indianerna Kumla 50:40. Paweł Przedpełski had a debut in Smederna Eskilstuna. 19 – year old rider from Toruń had a good match and scored 9 points.
Jurica, you had an occasion to start in Speedway European Championships series last season. What are your memories connected with this event?
- It was really great although my scores weren’t satisfactory of course. As far as the event itself is concerned, everything was great – from organization to atmosphere. SEC is really step forward for the whole speedway and being a part of it was a honor for me.

This year is very good for you. Did you change something in your preparations to the season or equipment and this is the result?
- Yes, so far everything is going well. To be honest, I didn't change anything, I just have a very good team around me and that’s the main reason.
