Bartosz Smektała scored only seven points during the second round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2020 in Bydgoszcz. The Pole is currently sixth in the interim classification of the series.
During the competition in Bydgoszcz, Smektała alterated wins with last places, which resulted in seven points and the ninth place in the competition. The Individual Junior World Champion from 2018 admits that he is not satisfied with his performance.
- I'm disappointed. I was positive about the competition in Bydgoszcz because of the track, which is ideal for racing, but I missed something though. Not only did I feel unwell at the start, I also didn't feel well at the distance, but even after winning one race I felt that's not what I wanted. I had no plan for racing on that track. It was a very bad day for me. - said Smektała.
The next round of TAURON SEC 2020 will be held on Wednesday in Gniezno. Bartosz Smektała believes that at the Gniezno track he'll be able to make up some points to his rivals, even though he didn't have too many opportunities to race there.
- It's been a long time since I raced in Gniezno. I think that the last time was two years ago. Probably most of the riders have the same problem. Nevertheless, I have been racing more often in Gniezno than in Bydgoszcz. I hope that I will be able to make up for the lost points - Smektała ended.
The third round of TAURON Speedway Euro Championship will be held on 15th July in Gniezno. The competition will start at 7 PM. Tickets for this event are available on eBilet.pl.
