Daniel Bewley finished sixth in the 2nd final of the Speedway Euro Championship 2021, which was held in Güstrow. The Briton is currently on fifth place in the interim classification of the series, which guarantees a spot in SEC 2022.
After an extremely successful debut in Bydgoszcz, Bewley was one of the favourites to win in Güstrow. The British rider had a great start in the competition on Saturday, because after two rounds he already scored 5 points. In the next two races however, he scored only one point. Thanks to the victory in heat 18, Bewley promoted to the "last chance" race, but in this one he took last place.
- It was though, especially in the middle of the meeting. I won a race and just missed out the last chance race. It was a good ride from Leon so it's hard to be too disappointed but it would be nice to make a final.
In Güstrow, Bewley scored 9 points, thanks to which he’s still in the TOP 5 of this year's SEC cycle. What's more, the Briton counts in the fight for medals, because he loses only four points to the third Leon Madsen. The rider from Marryport emphasizes that already during the upcoming competition in Gdansk he’d like to return on the podium and collect more points than in Güstrow.
- If I would advance to the final (in Güstrow) We could manage some good points. I think, before the final, the top score was like 10 points. It could have been good but we move on to the next round and hopefully - make the final again. Getting back to the podium will be good as well.
