Last year's SEC winner Robert Lambert finished seventh in the general classification of this year's competition and that means did not secure his spot for the next year’s series. The Briton stresses that he has struggled since the beginning of the cycle.
It was not a successful SEC season for Robert Lambert. The Briton scored two-digit points only in Gdańsk. In Rybnik he fought to stay in the cycle, however he finished the competition after the basic round with nine points on his account.
The 2020 European champion emphasizes that in the four-round SEC cycle you cannot take last places, and it happened to him as many as five times.
- It's a shame, my goal was to stay in for another season, but sometimes it doesn't work like that. I had a few problems through the series and needed just three extra points to qualify for next year. It's a though line up and you can't have any last places and through the whole series and I got five. It's a shame, but I would keep my head up. We got GP's to come and it would be the new start for me.
Lambert competed in the SEC series in 2018 – 2020. During this time he won the bronze and gold medals of the Individual European Championships. The Briton notes that both sportingly and organisationally, the SEC cycle stands at the highest level.
- I'm really happy with all of you are doing and it's a big pleasure to be the part of the series.
