Patryk Dudek won the bronze medal of the 2021 European Speedway Championships. In Rybnik the Polish rider made up lost points and led to an extra heat in which he defeated Piotr Pawlicki.

From the first competition of this year's SEC series, which took place in Bydgoszcz, Patryk Dudek proved that he will count in the fight for medals. The 2017 Vice-World Champion stood on the podium of the competition twice (in Güstrow and Rybnik), and also competed twice in the race offs. The Pole stresses that he is happy with the achieved result, because not everything went his way.

- I would like to thank everyone, who supported me. The series started pretty hard for me because before the first round I had a crash in Sweden and I didn't ride very comfortably during the first two rounds. In Bydgoszcz I had an engine failure in the race off and lost some points in other rounds. Before the final round, I was six points behind the leader and four behind the third rider, so I'm very happy that I managed to make up for it.

Before the final round, which took place in Rybnik, the fans eyes were focused on Mikkel Michelsen, Piotr Pawlicki and Leon Madsen. It seemed that these three will win the medals of SEC 2021. Dudek lost four points to the third Madsen. Thanks to his high score and a weaker performance of Piotr Pawlicki, Dudek equaled his Polish National Team teammate in points and the bronze medal of the SEC was decided by an extra heat. In this one, Dudek beat Pawlicki and stood on the lowest step of the podium.

- It was not easy, each of the leaders did his best. I am very pleased that I was able to "jump" from fourth place to the top.
