When you hear Patryk Dudek's name, you immediately associate it with fighting for the highest prizes. It will be no different in the TAURON SEC 2023. "Duzers" will want to improve his results from a year ago and surely can count on the support of his loyal fans. In the experts' predictions, the experienced rider will be listed as a favourite to win the medal, and there are at least a few reasons for this.
The 2017 SGP silver medallist has saved a place in this year's TAURON SEC series along with Leon Madsen, Janusz Kołodziej, Mikkel Michelsen and Dominik Kubera. However, it must be admitted that the lack of a medal was a disappointment for the Pole. 'Duzers' wanted to at least equal the achievement from the 2021 European Championships, after which he came home with the bronze medal. For a long time, it seemed that everything was going the Pole's way. Third place in Rybnik, second place in Güstrow and the final heat in Łódź had to be seen in a positive light. The Apator Toruń rider came to Pardubice with a four-point lead over the excellent Dane, Mikkel Michelsen.
Unfortunately for Dudek, the tournament in Pardubice was not successful for him. Michelsen made up for the loss and managed to snatch third place from him. "Duzers" finished the competition after the main phase of the meeting and left Czech Republic without any medal.
The rider and his team have certainly learned their lesson. Patryk Dudek will enter the 2023 season richer in experience and hungry to fight for medals. The Pole will start in the TAURON SEC 2023 with the hope that this time the whole campaign will resemble the beginning of the previous one, rather than its end. The line-up of this year's competition may also be an additional motivation. All those who have proved better recently - defending champion Leon Madsen, the excellent Janusz Kołodziej and the aforementioned Mikkel Michelsen - will appear in the series.
Polish fans are hoping that the tournaments held in Częstochowa, Güstrow, Bydgoszcz and Pardubice will bring beautiful moments for Patryk Dudek. The 30-year-old knows all these arenas well, so their geometry should come as no surprise to him. The most analysis will probably be devoted to the wide track in Czech Republic, where "Duzers" scored only seven points in 2022. However, it seems that there is a good chance that this time the Pole will be accompanied by a broad smile after the TAURON SEC final.
