The more you have, the more you want - that's how Dominik Kubera's ongoing career can be summarized in a nutshell. The Pole will be a permanent rider in the TAURON SEC 2023 series and certainly has the desire to fight for a medal. Recent months have shown that he is capable of great things. He has already left a mark in the European Championships and is planning to make even more.
Kubera is one of the many talented alumni of the Unia Leszno who, as a senior rider, impresses the speedway world. In 2022, he contributed very significantly to Motor Lublin winning the PGE Ekstraliga. He achieved a sensational average of 2.14 points per heat, which must have been impressive for a rider in his age.
Dominik Kubera is also fulfilling himself in individual competitions. Although he did not win promotion to the Grand Prix series, things were much better on other fields. He is the individual vice-champion of Poland and the man who made a remarkable run in the TAURON SEC 2022 cycle. Fans probably remember that the 23-year-old was a reserve rider, but - unlucky for other riders - the Pole started in three rounds - in Rybnik, Łódź and Pardubice. At the Moto Arena and in the final round held in Czech Republic, Kubera rode in final heats, while on Polish soil he took second place. Ultimately, Kubera moved up to fifth place in the interim classification of the series, thanks to which he will start in the TAURON SEC 2023.
- It's nice that it worked out that way. The scoring system in SEC is such that every point we score on the track counts, not the places we take. You have to fight hard for every single point. We'll see how it will be next year - said Kubera after the last competition of the 2022 season.
The line-up of the TAURON SEC 2023 series looks excellent. On the start list we have such stars as Leon Madsen, Mikkel Michelsen, Janusz Kołodziej and Patryk Dudek, with exciting qualifying still to come. The competition for Kubera will therefore be concrete, but the Pole certainly has the potential to fight for the top spots. The experience he gained last year will certainly help. His motivation will be even greater because the European Champion will win the promotion to the Speedway Grand Prix, which is one of the dreams of the young rider.
