Leon Madsen won the second round of the TAURON Speedway Euro Championship 2024, which took place in Grudziądz last Saturday. Thanks to his high score, the Dane has realistically entered the fight for medals in this year's Individual European Championships.

The beginning of the competition was not the easiest for Madsen. In his first race, he had to acknowledge the superiority of his rivals, finishing last. As the competition progressed, the Dane performed better and better, as evidenced by the fact that he lost only one point in the remaining races.

- It was tough at the beginning. We had problems finding the right setup, but finally, after hard work with my team, we found the best ones. It’s not easy when the track is slick and less grippy, because you need a really fast bike to win in such competitions.

The triumph at Venture Industries Arena was the Dane's twelfth round win in the history of TAURON SEC. It is worth noting that the two-time Individual European Champion is the undisputed leader of the all-time rankings in terms of victories and points scored in the competition for the title of the best speedway rider in the Old Continent.

- It's nice to break another record and, additionally, to be the first to win a TAURON SEC round in Grudziądz. It was a wonderful evening full of exciting races.

This year's cycle did not start well for Madsen. In Debrecen, he scored "only" five points and finished in a distant twelfth place. He presented himself in a completely different light in Grudziądz, where he scored 14 points, thus realistically entering the fight for the top positions.

- I feel that I am finally coming back to my old good form.
