Piotr Pawlicki stood on the lowest step of the podium in the second round of TAURON SEC 2024, which took place in Grudziądz. Thanks to a high score, 'Piter' moved up to third place in the interim classification.
The Pole returned to the competition for the title of the best rider in the Old Continent after a year-long break. The first stop of this year's cycle was Debrecen, where he finished in eighth place. At Grudziądz's Venture Industries Arena, he performed much better, which he "quietly" expected even before the competition began.
The tournament went his way just from the start. Pawlicki finished the main phase in second place, losing only two points in five starts.
- Regarding setup, there weren't many combinations. We had two setups – one worked better at the start but worse over the distance, while the other was better over the distance but I felt less speed at the tape up. We thought hard about which one to choose for the final race. Ultimately, we chose the latter, and I was able to enjoy third place.
After the second round of TAURON SEC 2024, Pawlicki holds third position in the interim standings. How does he view the rest of the cycle?
- I consider the second round of TAURON SEC to be very successful. I am only one point behind the leader, so I hope to finish this year's cycle in a higher position than in previous years. We still have two more rounds ahead. In each of them, I have to give it my all.
