The upcoming TAURON SEC 2024 round at Śląski Stadium will be crucial for Timo Lahti. The Finnish rider (competing with a Swedish passport) remains in the fight for the fifth place, which guarantees participation in next year's edition of the Individual European Championship.
Lahti has finished each of this year's TAURON SEC rounds within the top ten of the final standings. He was ninth in Debrecen and Grudziądz, while finishing fifth in Güstrow. On the German track, he provided several positive surprises by defeating much more accomplished rivals.
- Güstrow is one of my favorite tracks. Every time I race there, I feel great. As for the event itself, I drew a not-so-good number, and as everyone knows, at this track starting positions are important. Despite that, I have to say I am satisfied with my performance - said Lahti.
Before the final round in Chorzów, the Finn holds tenth place in the overall standings, just three points behind Maciej Janowski, who is in fifth place. What mindset will he bring to the competition in the "Cauldron of Witches"?
- Of course, my main goal is to finish this year’s series in the top five. Three other riders have a realistic chance of achieving this spot, so the fight is still on. I believe that at Stadion Śląski, I will secure my place in next year’s series.
