Another season of Speedway European Championships is behind us. It all started on June 20 at Motoarena in Toruń, though in fact it was over a dozen days earlier, when the SEC Challenge was held (moved from Lendava).
Up until the reform of Individual European Championship, which is until 2013, Poland held proudly the 1st place in overall medal classification in the championship's history. Since the line-up had been significantly strenghtened, the white and red have got a serious issue to reach any of the medals.

Antonio Lindbaeck was very close to the silver medal of Individual European Championship, but in his last heat he finished third and had to accept Nicki's superiority.
I'm really happy because of my win in Ostrów and that last heat of mine, which was close to perfection. I managed to defend the advantage over Antonio Lindbaeck and stood on the podium again - said Nicki Pedersen.
Emil Sayfutdinov became the European Champion for the second time in a row. Russian assured his golden medal after only 4 starts in the Great Final of SEC in Ostrów Wielkopolski. However, his beginnings in that meeting were not that good, proper corrections in the setups let him reach the ultimate triumph in the meeting.
