According to telemetry data, the 29-year-old rider recorded the fastest start reaction time in the first round of TAURON SEC 2023. This occurred in heat 19, where despite an outstanding start, Michelsen finished on third place.
The Danish rider released his clutch 0.156 seconds after the tape was released by the referee. Just three thousandths of a second later, Szymon Woźniak started in heat 3. The Polish rider secured the second position in the ranking of the best reactions in the competition. Kacper Halkiewicz, with a reaction time of 0.188 seconds in heat 18, took the lowest position on the podium in the ranking. The young rider didn't succumb to pressure when he had to replace Andreas Lyager at the last moment.
As we know, only the rider's reaction time doesn't indicate the quality of their start. Other factors such as the movement of the motorcycle or balance are also important. Nevertheless, the reflexes of the aforementioned trio deserve recognition, especially since the average human reaction time is around 0.250 seconds.
