Everything is clear! The organizers of Speedway European Championships series have ended completing the lineup by giving two “wild cards”. Martin Smolinski and Andrzejs Lebedevs are sure of the start in the series.
Martin Smolinski is now definitely the best German rider. So far he has been starting both on a classical track and long track. He is the first rider in the history who took part in two Grand Prix series (classical and longtrack). This season is really successful for German. During inaugural tournament of World Championships he won in Auckland. He was also the rider of German team during Speedway Best Pairs Cup and he scored then 83% of all points of the national team. “Smoli” surely would like to make some surprises in SEC series, especially because the first tournament is in Germany, in Güstrow!
Andrzejs Lebedevs is a very talented 20 – year old rider. He has already some important successes. He is double medalist of individual Latvian championships: gold (2011) and silver (2010), bronze medalist of club European Cup, double finalist of European pair championships (Piła 2011 – IV place, Równe2012 – silver medal). Lebedevs is also a finalist of individual European championships (2012 – VI place). Silver medalist of individual European championships U19 (Güstrow 2013). Finalist of individual World Championships U21 (2013 – IV place). Latvian had also quite good scores during this year Speedway Best Pairs Cup. To qualify to SEC he missed really not much. Although he had quite good beginning in Debrecen, he scored eight points and lost with Patryk Dudek in additional heat.
