- Everybody is talking about SEC and the sale of the tickets shows that fans are not only talking but also acting to be present on the 6th of July on the stadium. – says the president of MC Gustrow, Torsten Juern.
It’s only a week, on the 6th of July at 7 p. m. in Gustrow, Germany the inaugural tournament of Speedway European Championships series starts. The best riders in Europe will be fighting for the title of European champion. Of course Martin Vaculik, who is defending the title, will also start in the event.
Speedway European Championships was appreciated after last season when there were emotions until the very last heat. Great atmosphere, tracks prepared very well and fight on for the whole heat – this is what fans expect. In a week time in Gustrow, Germany fans of speedway will have a possibility to support the best riders in Europe who after Challenge in Debrecen qualified to the series.
We will see four Poles, three Danes, two Russians, two Germans, two Swedes, Latvian, Croat and European champion 2013, Martin Vaculik. The opinions on the subject of the win in Gustrow are different. Some count on a surprise, pointing for example Peter Kildemand. Others are saying about sure favorites like Nicki Pedersen.
Martin Smolinski and Andrzejs Lebedevs had to wait the longest for their chance because they have received permanent wild cards from the organizers, One Sport. “Smoli” surely would like to make some surprises in SEC series, especially that the inaugural tournament is in Germany. Latvian didn’t miss much to qualify to SEC without wild card. Although the beginning of Challenge in Debrecen was good for him, he scored 8 points and lost with Patryk Dudek in the additional heat.
