Nicki Pedersen won inaugural round of Speedway European Championships which took place in Gustrow. Dane was better than his team mate Peter Kildemand. Third was Janusz Kołodziej.
- It’s really great feeling. I was racing here last time fifteen years ago. When you’re racing in front of full stadium you have new energy and you want to win. I’m really happy and I’m going to Togliatti for another points. – said just after taking the cup, Nicki Pedersen.
- The track was very good, it happened really a lot. For the whole tournament I was racing well and in spite of all the third place is a great success. – added Janusz Kołodziej.
The tournament wasn’t successful for Martin Vaculik who is defending the title. Slovak didn’t win any hit and he was only 10th scoring seven points.
Close to the final was also Adrian Miedziński but fall in his last heat took away this chance from him.
- It’s a pity that I didn’t qualify to the final because it was very close. From the very beginning I felt good here. In my last heat Emil Sajfutdinow and Janusz Kolodziej went on the outside and I had no space left. Fortunately everything is okay and I will fight in Togliatti.
