There was no surprise in the final of Danish league which ended with the victory of Holsted Speedway Klub. The key for the win for hosts was the strong team. Silver medals were won by Esbjerg Motorsport and bronze by Munkebo.
Peter Kildemand is at the moment the most dangerous rival for Emil Sajfutdinow as far as the gold medal of Individual European Championship is concerned. Dane has really good season and he loses only three points to the Russian. What is more, he is a representative of the local club, Włókniarz and he knows the track very well.
On Tuesday evening there were first matches of semi – finals in Swedish Elitserien. In Motala, Swedish champions, Piraterna won in the very last heat over Indianerna Kumla. In the home team there weren’t Darcy Ward and Greg Hancock and among visitors Niels Kristian Iversen. In the second match Rospiggarna Hallstavik won with Elit Vetlanda 47:43 athough there was a moment when they had 14 points of advantage.
Peter Kildemand had a great entrance in Polish ekstraliga while he was winning with world class riders on each track. He also qualified to European Championship and he is very successful. On the 19th of September he will have a chance to win the medal of Speedway European Championships for the first time in his career.
Six point loss to the leader of Speedway European Championships is much but Nicki Pedersen wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t put everything on one card and didn’t fight for the title which was taken from him by Martin Vaculik at the very last moment.
On the 19th of September at SGP Arena in Częstochowa there is the Great Final of Speedway European Championships so rivalry for Individual European Championship. The next day at the National Stadium in Warsaw fans will be witnesses of Verva Street Racing – Dakar at National in which for example Emil Sajfutdinow will take part.
Andzejs Lebedevs who is currently ninth in general classification of Speedway European Championships has drown number one for the Great Final of European Championship which takes place on the 19th on September in Częstochowa.
Nicki Pedersen was very close to the European Champion title last season. Then Martin Vaculik took him the gold medal at the very last moment. Now the task is even more difficult because he loses six points to the leader Emil Sajfutdinow. However we should remember that Pedersen is a real tough guy and he never gives up.
Rune Holta has received the wild card for the Great Final of Speedway European Championships, which takes place on the 19th of September at SGP Arena in Częstochow, from the organizers of SEC. The rider is a representative of local Włókniarz so the knowledge of the track will be his big advantage.
The last, fourteenth round of regular phase of Polish ENEA Ekstraliga took place on Saturday and Sunday. In the most interesting match, Grupa Azoty Unia Tarnów had a draw with SPAR Falubaz Zielona Góra although generally it should have won. On the home track Unibax Toruń battered down Wybrzeże Gdańsk 74:16 (!)
The Danish final four will be held at MOLDOW Speedway Arena on 10th of September. That came out clear after Holsted Tigers successfully won the last match against Slangerup 44 – 40 on Thursday evening. The injured team leader Nicki Pedersen was absent in the match, but Holsted Tigers won anyway and secured the final four on 10th September.
It’s only two weeks to the Great Final of this year’s fight for European Championship. Great track, great racing and the stadium full of fans. Nobody can imagine better place than Częstochowa for the ending of the Speedway Euopean Championships series. It’s here, in this city, on the 19th of September fans at SGP Arena will know the new European Champion. It is worth to buy the ticket now and ensure a place at SGP Arena.
