Postponed Monday meeting of Swedish Elitserien between Dackarna Malilla and Indianerna Kumla ended with a win of the hosts 47:43. The best riders were Michael Jepsen Jensen and Rune Holta. Both scored 13 points and two bonuses. As far as the visitors are concerned the most effective was Fredrik Lindgren who scored 10 points. There was Rider’s Replacement for injured Nicki Pedersen.
Before the last round of Speedway European Championships Martin Vaculik loses five points to the leader of the series Emil Sajfutdinow. Similar situation took place last season when Slovak managed to undo loss to Nicki Pedersen at the very last moment and won the title of European Champion. Will Vacul repeat such feat in Częstochowa?
Bartosz Zmarzlik won Grand Prix Poland which took place on Saturday in Gorzów. Matej Zagar took the second place. Third place was taken by Krzysztof Kasprzak. Really dangerous looking crash had Hancock and Iversen in fourteenth heat. On the first bend Dane was strongly pulled which caused problems with the right riding for “Herbie”, who was the second. Both riders fell on the track. Unfortunately they didn’t shop up on the track anymore. First news said that Iversen damaged ligaments in his knee, and Hancock moved a finger of the left hand.
On the 19th of September In Częstochowa tere is the Great Final of Speedway European Championships. Among the best riders of Europe there is also Tomasz Gollob who has had many problems during this season. However during last league matches he confirmed that he hasn’t forgotten how to win and definitely it will be the same in Częstochowa.
Janusz Kołodziej will start in the SEC final in Częstochowa straightway but he is going to fight for the medal of European Championship. Although loss to Emil Sajfutdinow is too much, but fight for the podium seems still real.
Rospiggarna Hallstavik won with Ikaros Smederna Eskilstuna 49:41 in the first leg of the Swedish Elitserien quarter-final. The best rider in Rospiggarna was Mads Korneliussen, who scored thirteen points. Hosts did not help even a very good return of Grigory Laguta. Russian in the first start after an injury scored nine points. The second leg will be held next Tuesday in Hallstavik.
