Grigorij Laguta is coming back for the last tournament of Speedway European Championships series which takes place on the 19th of September in Częstochowa . Russian is a representative of Włókniarz and because of that it is a great advantage for him as far as fight for the podium is concerned.

Grigorij, you are coming back for the last tournament of Speedway European Championships. You weren’t able to ride in other ones because of the injury…
- Yes, unfortunately this season hasn’t been successful for me at all, as you said, I lost almost whole SEC series and as a result I have no chance to have a good score in general classification.

We are before the tournament in Częstochowa so the place which is special for you…
- Yes, Częstochowa is very close to my heart and will definitely always be. I’m happy that I’ve managed to come back for this, at least one tournament because it’s really important for me. I like riding on the track in Częstochowa a lot and I’ve really wanted to ride in front of fans there, because it gives me a lot of joy. I hope that I will manage to provide emotions which they won't forget for a long time.

As you said, the is no chance for you to succeed in this year’s SEC series but I can’t believe that you won’t treat this tournament seriously…
- Of course, my approach is always very serious and I want to do my best. This time is the same. I want to win in Częstochowa and that’s my aim. I’ll try to be well prepared in order to score as many points as possible.

Everybody is really happy that you came back during this season but is everything okay with your health?
- Generally yes but of course I still feel this injury. The leg still reminds me that it exists (laugh). I’m also still going for rehabilitation and everything is going better and better but I can’t say that I got rid of this injury.

Is it interrupting you when you are riding on a bike?
- Fortunately not. Worse situation is when I have to walk but on a bike I fell quite okay. I don’t feel the pain when I race. I fell worse after each heat but, as I said before, everything is going better and better.

While we were talking last time you said that you will do everything to come back not too quickly on a track. Don’t you want to cure slowly and come back next season?
- That’s true, I was afraid to come back too quickly again but this time it is definitely not too quick come back. Although I still fell this injury, come back was possible and I’ve made this decision after talks with doctors. It is also important for each rider to come back to racing before winter so that this break isn’t too long.

The final of Speedway European Championships is a great opportunity for the club from Częstochowa to improve difficult situation. What is your approach to this issue?
- I agree that the SEC final can really help the club from Częstochowa and I hope that it will be like that. I really care that the situation is improved because I still would like to ride there very much. I’ll do my best to help Włókniarz in that ending and save this club. Speedway European Championships can be really useful and I hope that many fans will come.

Do you think that a good score in Częstochowa can help you to get permanent wild card in next year Speedway European Championships series?
- I haven’t thought about it yet but I would like to have a good score in Częstochowa, even very good. I count that I manage to remind about myself and maybe some wild card for the next year would be possible (laugh).

I guess you still want to start in SEC…
- Of course! It’s great event. What is more, it is organized by great people who I have known for some time and I still would like to be a part of Speedway European Championships.
